Good Topics For Expository Essay Writing
Good Topics For Expository Essay WritingThe last thing you need is a ton of problems that you have to solve when it comes to writing an expository essay. It's amazing how many students in college have trouble with this, but here are some tips that should help you get a great piece of writing done for your exam.First of all, make sure you write the essay in the present tense. When I am writing an expository essay, I don't use the past tense because I feel that is a dead-end way to go. Why should I waste my time trying to make a point in the past tense when I can make the same point right now?Instead, you should use the future tense. Why? Because the future is where the things are going and they are happening now. You are telling a story about what you want to happen in the future that people will experience and in which they can participate in.Your topic is your hook for your essay. Just as a movie hook works for a movie, you need to hook your topic into the essay. Of course, you can use simple adjectives and adverbs to describe things that you can't actually describe in words. This is fine, but you need to use them sparingly because you will need your hooks to make your essay work. Now that you know what your hook is, you can get to thinking about the types of questions you want to use. Your essay should answer at least three questions about the topic at hand. If it doesn't, then there's a problem with the questions. Remember, you need to be creative enough to come up with these answers if your topic is not sufficiently covered in the essay. As far as what kinds of questions you should use, you could use two or three interesting questions per topic, but you want to be sure that each question is tied to one particular aspect of the topic. For example, if your topic is business models, you might ask questions about niche models. If your topic is marketing, you might ask questions about branding, price points, and demand generation. Now you can start thinking about h ow to structure your essay. Try to keep the structure as simple as possible, but make sure that you do tie it in to the topic you are going to cover. Here are some examples:The main idea you want to accomplish is to 'sell' the reader on the benefits of reading your essay. Your hook should be telling your readers why they should read your essay. That is your best chance to make this type of essay really work.
